Tachometers

All Rocketman Tachs are converted to modern Aircore movements with state of the art circuitry. These are not repaired or rebuilt tachometers - the only original parts used are the dial, bracket, case and (sometimes) the pointer. So what does that mean?
It means that you are getting a brand new tachometer with only one moving part, the same technology used everyday in automobiles, boats and aircraft world wide. It also means that your converted or new tachometer will plug directly into your MSD tach port with NO tach adapter! Best of all, your tachometer will do all of this and still look original when installed!
It also means that you are no longer relying on 50+ year old technology that can leave you stranded. Anyone who has ever been stranded by a Ford inline tach can tell you it's not an experience they want to repeat. So why take the chance? My tachometers are BRAND NEW inside, built in the USA and are about half the price of repaired old technology.

The G2S is the tach that Mercury should have made! It replaces the clock delete on 1969 and 1970 standard Cougars. It is made from the clock delete itself and retains the double conical shape and brushed center. The scale and font are designed to match the standard speedometer. It has a competition orange pointer and is only available in the 8000 RPM range.
Note: This tachometer is a drop in replacement for a clock or clock delete plug. If your standard Cougar has a clock you will need to get a lens from a non-clock panel. West Coast Classic Cougars has a supply of the non clock lenses available.

Cores:

G1S and G2S: A usable core has a face with normal to no wear & tear. The plastic case is intact and the center section is bright silver. G2S cores have a pedestal with center piece.

G1X6 and G2X6: Unless you purchase a core from me, the core you send is the tachometer you get back, so make sure that it has a nice face. Bent or missing pointers are not a problem, but I must have a good case. Tachometers with plastic cases and stop pins at zero are no problem. A usable core includes the center pedestal and cap on 69/70 cores.

G1X8 and G2X8: Your core dial will be refaced, so fading and slight scratches are not a problem. Bent or missing pointers are not a problem, but I must have a good case. G2X8 tachometers with plastic cases and stop pins at zero are no problem. A usable core includes the center pedestal and cap on 69/70 cores.

Mustangs and others: The core you send is the tachometer you get back, so make sure that it has a nice face. Bent or missing pointers are not a problem, but I must have a good case and dial. Tachometers with plastic cases and stop pins at zero are no problem. A usable core includes the center pedestal and cap on 69/70 cores.

Old movements: If you would like the old movement returned to you with your converted tachometer, please add an extra $3.00 for shipping and be sure to let me know when you place your order.

I buy cores! Do you have an old tachometer or two laying around? Send me an email with your asking price.
